The future has never looked brighter for both Kehlani and BJ The Chicago Kid, two angelically-voiced R&B singers who broke out last year with their rather retro approaches to the genre. Today, their paths cross on "Down For You," a track that finds them gelling like two longtime collaborators.
Opening with some clutch harmonizing, the track goes on to sound a little bit like Alicia Keys' "Unbreakable" when the beat drops, but once the hook sets in, "Down For You" is unmistakably a Kehlani jam. BJ gets a verse of his own, and then the talented pair spend the rest of the song interweaving their vocals. This is truly some great stuff.
