Meet Jay IDK with his new banger "The Plug."

Today we're introducing a new DMV rapper to the site, with the release of Jay IDK's "The Plug." The wrist references have been taking over, with help from Father's "Look At Wrist" joint and the rap game's obsession with the trap. Jay IDK (Ignorantly Delivering Knowledge) makes a few wrist references himself, over a hard-hitting beat from Lo-Fi that switches up half-way through to something much more minimal.

On the track's dichotomy, the rapper told Complex, "King Trappy is my alter ego a.k.a. the plug. The plug is pretty much a trap song with substance (#SubTrap). The second verse is where I break down 'The Plug,' the Reagan era how it effects society, from the plug (King Trappy's) point of view. I'm not trying to preach. I'm just doing my best to give a non bias breakdown of trap from both sides of the fence, to raise awareness, hence the two totally different sounding verses."

Quotable Lyrics

What's those pants? Alexander Wang
Buy new clothes every time I sell a whole thang
Movin' that cocoa and I ain't talkin' 'bout butter
I leave it to my young niggas, they gon' cook it and cut it
They take it back to the block, they break it down make it pop
Trappin' is not like sellin' records, it is not gunna flop
