PJ gave us the first taste of her upcoming debut EP, Walking Around Pools, a couple weeks back, which paired her with Hit-Boy as well as a talented team of producers. Today, she's shared another new record from the impending project, which fully embodies the sunny vibes of the EP's title.
"Nickels & Dimes" is built off of a chorus of heavily filtered voices, reminiscent of the more colorful productions of Ty Dolla $ign. Like Ty, PJ started out in songwriting, and her gift for melody also lends itself to arrangement. Things slow to a skeletal groove in the bridge before building up even more lush than before in the song's denoument.
Quotable Lyrics:
And it don't always make sense now
But know it always adds up
Nickels and dimes
