Houston is a city who has managed to maintain an underground rap scene that supports itself internally, and 5th Ward JP is one of the emerging names from that circle. We heard him on buzzing rapper and producer BeatKing's club single "Stopped", and today, he receives one of the regions biggest co-signs, earning a hook from Kirko Bangz.
Despite earning international success, Kirko has been digging his heels into his local scene, paying homage to its rich history on his most recent mixtape, Progression V, and appearing on tracks with up-and-comers like the aforementioned BeatKing and others. Look out for more from 5th Ward JP later this year.
Quotable Lyrics:
Too many bosses
And not enough soldiers
It's so wrong for me to trust you
When none of y'all loyal
What am I supposed to do?
