Nikko Lafre is back at it today. The 300-signed rapper is currently prepping two projects, and after giving us "How It Look" as a taste off In My Own Words, he returns with another new single for a different project. "Guilty of Dedication" is a leak off Troubled Soul, which is set to be Nikko's debut album on 300 Entertainment (this spring), and will be followed up later by In My Own Words. So it's safe to say we have more than enough music from Nikko coming our way.
"Guilty of Dedication" is a deeper, darker track than the turn-up friendly "How It Look" (and likewise "Zach Lavine"). Production is from the usual suspects, K-Beatz and Johnny Rain, who create a menacing chopped and screwed sound complete with a heavy bass. In the vein of his MPLS: West End Stories mixtape, the song details his drug-dealing past as he struggled to come up in the game (which is contrasted by his current life: "but now we shopping in Paris, France and them new Balenciagas I bought three").
Nikko's paired the audio release with the release of the official music video-- it's actually his debut visual, so make sure to check that out below!
Quotable Lyrics
But for this rap shit, I'm all money in
No Nip Hussle, just Young Nik
Same nigga since Front Street
Come wrong and I come seek
Cause I don't talk much but the gun speak
