Hip hop and basketball have long since been synonymous with rappers dropping ball-related lyrics in their tracks for years. A veritable number of NBA players have even tried their hand at the rap game, with varying degrees of success (and failure).
A video was recently released chronicling the making of the most grandiose NBA/rap collaboration effort of all-time. From SLAMonline, a whopping fourteen NBA players have signed onto Full Court Press Vol. 1, which will also feature a slew of hip hop talent with not only big names in the league, but some big names in the rap game.
The motivational-themed album is being helmed by mercurial NBA forward, Stephen Jackson. Rappers attached include none other than Rick Ross, Snoop Dogg, Birdman, The Game, T-Pain, and more.
With a tentative release date of All Star Weekend 2013, the ballers on the record include Baron Davis, Josh Smith, Carlos Boozer, Shawn Marion, veteran Juwan Howard, and more. Proceeds from sales will go to children in the community looking earn an education in the music business.
