While everyone else is still obsessing over last night's Grammy Awards, Kendrick Lamar decides it's the perfect time to drop a new record off his highly anticipated untitled album. "The Blacker The Berry" has K. Dot delivering aggressive and hungry bars over dark production from OVO's go-to Boi-1da (additional production comes from Terrace Martin). The rapper tackles some social issues once again, with appropriate timing given it's Black History Month. For those who were hating on Kendrick's first single "i", this one should definitely satisfy you.
Give it a listen and let us know what you think! Kendrick took home two Grammys last night-- "i" won Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.
Quotable Lyrics
You hate me don't you
I know you hate me just as much as you hate yourself
Jealous of my wisdom and cards I dealt
Watchin' me as I pull up, fill up my tank, then peel out
Muscle cars like pull-ups, show you what these big wheels about
Ah, black is successful, this black man meant to be special
Cat scans on my radar, bitch how can I help you
How can I tell you, I'm making a killin'
You made me a killer, emancipation of a real nigga
