While the headlines around Kevin Gates have become increasingly absurd, his workmanlike output, undeniable skill and charisma remains consistent. The Baton Rouge rapper closed out last year with his second mixtape of 2014, the impressive Luca Brasi 2, and even since then, he's kept new music coming.
Millz and Zar's production on "The Law" allows Gates the space to vent freely, going hookless, and sharing stories at a stream of consciousness pace. The record follows last week's "Flicka Da Wrist" and suggests the outspoken emcee may have yet another new project in the works. We'll keep you posted on any updates.
Quotable Lyrics:
Took my talent down to South Beach
But I couldn't stay
Rumored that I signed a deal with Wayne
I was in the game
Held my weight every time I came, ask Mack Maine
Me and Bird communicate about the penitentiary
