Here's a new artist to keep tabs on. Jimi Tent is an 18-year old Brooklyn native who counts himself among the Sleepercamp collective, and dropped off a new single today, the first uploaded to his Soundcloud, "Elmer Fudd." The rapper gets introspective on "Elmer Fudd," which starts off with him asking, "If a body drop in the hood, and no one around, does it make noise?" Jimi has a laid-back delivery over the soft production from Sedroc, with assistance from singer Moxie Raia on the hook. "I met Moxie while working on my debut project with Nate Fox out in LA," Jimi told Billboard. "She was super cool and we creatively clicked."
So keep your eyes out for that debut project. And Nate Fox is a member of Chance The Rapper's Social Experiment collective, so that's always a good sign.
Quotable Lyrics
I'm a line away from fishing at the dock
I'm a line away from fucking up my life
I'm a line away from itching at the dots
I'm a show away from getting cash or not
You a hoe away from getting crabs and shots
Rain go away, don't need you, can you stop
Been a goner since conception ask my pops
I was born to die with purpose, that's the plot
