In the past year, Converse's "CONS" program has produced unlikely collaborations between Flatbush Zombies and Trash talk, Kevin Gates and Rustie and Black Milk and BADBADNOTGOOD, and today, they give us yet another. This time, it's Freddie Gibbs and Los Angeles-based producer Hanni El Khatib who make up the odd couple, and they've turned out "Black Satin."
A little less cohesive than the results of Gibbs' recent partnership with Madlib, "Black Satin" is nevertheless worth your time, because it gives the hard-edged MC the chance to spit over something out of his comfort zone. The track's taken from the impending third volume of Converse's CONS EPs.
Quotable Lyrics
Cruisin' down the 110
Drop the top up off my donk
And let my bald head hit the wind
As I take another sip again
Got two cold pieces driving me
I'm talkin' cold as Michigan
