Nappy Roots had been dropping off a new record every Friday for a little while, but things kind of tapered off as we entered the holiday season. The last song we got from the group was "Facts", which came at the end of November, but today they've given us the first record in over a month, as well as the first if the new year with "Party For The Ages".
Despite the title, the song is pretty low-tempo, using some heavily-filtered synths for an introspective track from the crew. Look out for their upcoming studio album, The 40 Akerz Project, on March 3rd.
Quotable Lyrics:
I just wanna live, but I'm not scared to die
I just want to know, are you happy with a lie?
Versus honesty, we try
But not too hard to stand out
