With her Young California movement, L.A.'s DJ Carisma sometimes seems like the West Coast version of DJ Khaled. In-line with that is her new version of the Miami hitmaker's "Hold You Down," which originally featured an R&B dream team of Chris Brown, August Alsina, Future & Jeremih, but now is given a girls-only makeover for the "Queen Mix." Kehlani, Siya, Kay Cola, Lyrica Anderson are Netta B called upon for this one.
Starting with a sung hook, the song goes on to include verses from all parties involved, each rewriting the boys' track to fit their own lives. A dope look for Carisma.
Quotable Lyrics
19 is hell, can barely hold down myself
But I know that I can hold you down
While we on a paper chase and our love is lightin' the way
I don't think I do it all by myself
