The question that begs asking with Trinidad James' new song "BlackMan Pt. 2" is, "was there even a part one?" No, there wasn't, but that "Pt. 2" is still intrinsic to the track. On this Diplo-produced gem, Trinidad imagines a second chapter for both his life and the lives of black men around the country.
Weaving his own story in with that larger narrative, James creates a compelling first taste of his new project, No One Is SaFe, which will be released on January 20th as a free download. Apparently, it will include features from iLoveMakonnen, Big K.R.I.T., OG Maco, Peewee Longway, Offset, Problem, Lil Debby and Scotty ATL.
Quotable Lyrics
What you thought? I was just gon' up and quit?
'Cause them record labels and media said I ain't shit
Boy stop, my two videos are poppin', black man with limited options
Who attended no college, livin' in debt on the guiltiest conscious
Supportin' his mama, believin' I can, boy look at Obama
Do what I can, supportin' the fam, overtimin' the hours
