Saba makes his HNHH debut as a solo artist today with "Next Door," a track that features fellow Chicagoan Lucki Eck$. Featuring artwork that shows a trippy rendering of "Black Lives Matter" signs, the song is a unique take on racial profiling and growing up on Chiraq's notoriously violent South Side.
In keeping with Eck$ pre-existing sound, "Next Door" is thoughtful and deep while still retaining druggy, psychedelic elements. CHAD comes through with some fantastically aqueous production, with a start-and-go beat blending in effortlessly with murky keys. This is the first solo track from Saba we've posted, but "Next Door" sounds like it won't be the last.
Quotable Lyrics
Momma drinkin' comatose, it's in my genes like chromosomes
Daddy left, he said he won't be long, but he was oh so wrong
I go to school from grandma home, see mom in that ambulance
She was laid out on the floor and she ain't recognize the boy
