Before he premieres his tape TrapFornia 2 with us on December 9th, Young Sam has taken a moment to pause and reflect on the racial tensions that are enveloping the country as we speak. Ostensibly a one-off loosie, "Color Blind" has him dropping some knowledge over a midtempo beat.
Beginning with some light piano keys and a vocal sample, the track goes on to splice in some synth sounds and a minimal beat. Sam name-checks Martin Luther King, Jr. and instead of rapping a hook, prays for the world. Usually a rapper focused on the trap and the struggles of street life, Sam shows another side of his art on this track.
Quotable Lyrics
I'm just a victim of the ghetto
Rearrange my game plan
Trying to live better
