Chicago-via-Paris rapper/singer MJ is currently hard at work on a debut project that will include the best of both of his worlds. Entitled ChicagoParis, the album is currently without a release date, but today we get to hear the first track from the project. Entitled "Family First," the ADOTHEGOD-produced track also features fellow Chicagoans GLC and Twista.
From the jump, "Family First" bears unmistakable similarities to Kanye West's "Family Business" -- there's the piano-led beat, a hook sung by a chorus of youngsters and features from two past Kanye collaborators. Midway through, that comparison becomes even stronger when MJ interpolates Mr. West's "still love your man and be manly, dawg" line.
Quotable Lyrics
All my niggas from the Chi, that's my family, dawg
And my niggas from Paris, that's my family, dawg
I feel like one day you'll understand me, dawg
You can still love your man and be manly, dawg
