Talib Kweli and Javotti Media's new tape, The Cathedral, has him putting on a number of younger artists, as well as teaming up with old homies like Pharoahe Monch for some very enjoyable tracks. One of them is "Everywhere I Go," in which Kweli takes a trip down south to link up with Curren$y and Big K.R.I.T.
Outfitteed with a molasses-slow tempo that befits its two high-profile guests, the production on this track honestly sounds quite a bit like K.R.I.T.'s work, all bombastic horns, technicolor strings and a pinging, driving beat. He gets the last spot on here, and proceeds to kill it.
Quotable Lyrics
That's a player move -- in this game of life you can't crusade or lose
You gotta be willing to be the villain to get the chinchilla and gator shoes
I heard it from an old school cat, say I had an old school soul
Told me I was bound to be great, never fall for the fate, and never ever chase no hoe
