Coming from the Jerkin' duo the New Boyz, Legacy has generally been known to stick to upbeat west coast records, but his new offering "DWYL" is quite a departure. The record finds the rapper taking on a murky, industrial-informed instrumental, and contributing some emotional auto-tuned vocals. His vocal approach changes throughout, but the paranoid atmosphere of the song stays consistent.
No word on where this record will end up. Make sure to check out Legacy's feel-good record "Clothes On" from earlier in the summer. What do you think of the direction of his new track? Feelin' it?
Quotable Lyrics:
Fuck with a nigga that get it
How this shit make you feel?
Throw it on me like it's been a long time
Long term money, it's a slow grind
Bottom of the ocean, still gon' shine
