We haven't shared anything new from MC Mod Sun since his 2011 tape Blazed By The Bell, but today we've got a premiere to hit you with. His new track "Saying Something" arrives today, and features artwork that shows Sun sandwiched between Tom Petty and the creepy face from Chumbawamba's artwork for their '90s hit "Tubthumping."
If you're thinking the cover is random, guess again, because "Saying Something" interpolates bits of Petty's "Don't Come Around Here No More" and Chumbawamba's "Tubthumping" into its chorus.
On Mod Sun's SoundCloud, he explains the origin of this mashup:
"just having fun. took a break from making the album 1 day + put my ipod on shuffle.....TOM PETTY + CHUMBUWAMBA played back to back, so i sampled them + brought us all together.
ALBUM COMING VERY SOON."
