Young Dro is back in the news, and it's because of an arrest once again. He popped up this past May for his joint effort with Zaytoven, Boot Up, but prior to that we had mostly been reporting on arrest warrants and the like.
Today Fox 5 News reports that the Dro was arrested at Georgia Southern University after he was found with drugs and a gun. The rapper had been set to perform at the campus' Performing Arts Center, but the arrest obviously put a damper on things. Dro was reportedly "charged with carrying a weapon in a school safety zone, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon or first offender, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance." We don't have more details on how the arrest transpired at this time.
University officials say that Dro's performance was supposed to be part of Statesboro Summer Jam, and thus was not scheduled by the school itself. No bond had been set.
