In 2010, a self-titled tape by Earl Sweatshirt emerged out of the Odd Future camp, and acted as an exclamation point on the tail of the crew's already-shocking, still very young career. Filled with lyrics even more X-rated than those on Tyler, The Creator's hair-raising Bastard tape, EARL showcased a 16-year-old MC who had a vivid, often disgusting imagination, and rapped prodigiously to boot. Now, a previously-unreleased track from that same era has surfaced (in its full form, rather than the snippet we got in July). Take a listen to "Rats" below.
A grimy track that bears the unmistakable hallmarks of early OFWGKTA tracks, "Rats" is chock full of eerie pianos, queasy synths and NC-17 level lyrics. In other words: fucking awesome.
Quotable Lyrics
Fuck naw, they can't handle the fact
That I'm not yet a man, and manhandlin' tracks
Tell these fags that the lip chap champion's back
With wolf cock up the ass of the tabbiest cat
