Freddie Gibbs and Madlib's joint LP, Piñata, was released earlier this year and is (in some people's minds) one of the year's finest. Now, one of the highlights of the project, "Knicks," has gotten the all-star remix it deserves. Action Bronson, Joey Bada$$ and Ransom, all of whom know their way around a dusty boom-bap track, hop on the Madlib joint.
Part of the upcoming Knicks Remix EP -- which will also feature this amazing image on its back -- this track brings out the best qualities in each of its guests. Bronson brings a Costco-esque bulk pack of the LOLs, Ransom stitches in as much assonance and consonance as he can muster, and Bada$$ caps it off with a verse that makes us reach for our thinking caps. Excellent stuff.
