The past week has seen several artists come out against the long-standing industry tradition of "remixing" other artists' songs by simply spitting a verse over the original version's unchanged production. Kari Faux, whose "No Small Talk" just recieved a co-sign from Childish Gambino, trolled would-be freestylers by dropping a faux-instrumental version of the track, and then iLoveMakonnen and Mike WiLL Made It both aired out their annoyance at a market saturated with freestyles on Twitter over the weekend.
Right on cue, it seems, Rico Love drops a remix of Rae Sremmurd's "No Type" (produced by Mike WiLL) that completely alters the track itself. If more "remixers" actually remixed the songs they wanted to rap over, the world would be a better place. Kudos to you, Rico Love.
Quotable Lyrics:
How the fuck I'm gon' judge?
Bitch I'm the club too
On champagne I spent a dub
I love groupie love too
