Last week, NC spitters Duru Tha King and Deniro Farrar linked up on a track called "New Charlotte" that served to introduce the outside world to their hometown scene. After that scene-defining statement, the pair return with "SET," a new track produced by James Worthy.
The track is a sparse, slightly off-kilter number led by a staccato piano line, which slowly evolves into a busier composition with synths and some reverberating hi-hats. Duru comes through first with a sing-songy verse (which recalls Kendrick Lamar at his most melodic) before the gravelly-voiced Farrar takes over for the entire second half.
Watch out for this NC duo, they're doing big things.
Quotable Lyrics:
When I walk in the club, all the real niggas show me love
Bad bitches give me hugs, fuck niggas get mugged
And I'm with my thugs, talk that shit get dropped
Nigga don't fuck with us, have a hoe roll up my drugs
