For nearly four decades, the Houston Oilers ruled the professional gridiron before packing up and moving to Tennessee in 1996. Rap veteran and Houston legend Paul Wall is old enough to remember Oiler greats like Warren Moon, and he pays homage to to the team and the city of Houston with his new album, Houston Oiler.
The 16-track project is Wall's first album since last fall's Slab God. It features several H-Town vets, including Slim Thug, Z-Ro, Lil Keke and Chamillionaire.
"There's a fan base to support all the different branches of the hip hop tree that have been growing out of Houston," Wall said of the flourishing Houston rap scene in an interview with HNHH last year. "Whereas in the past, it might just be the typical Houston sound of music."
