On September 14th, Nikko Lafre will release MPLS: West End Stories, his full length debut as a solo artist. Included on that project will be a two-part epic entitled "Geechi's Story." We premiered part one, "Explosions," back in July, and now we have the pleasure of sharing part two, "The Prayer," with you.
A little more upbeat than "Geechi's Story: Explosions," "The Prayer" finds Lafre rapping about living "to see a hundred bands" over an ecstatically booming beat. Like its predecessor, this track focuses on Lafre's uncle, nicknamed Geechi, who was deported after serving time for drug distribution and attempted murder.
Stay tuned for MPLS: West End Stories.
Quotable Lyrics:
Used to have so many friends
But they got jealous and started to talk to the feds
Now they all turnin' up dead
But that's the results when you come between me and the bread
