Last time we heard from Cory Jreamz (described by our very own Eric Jaffe as an up-and-coming poet/musician/screenwriter/genius hailing from Houston, Texas), it was when he shared the melancholic "Berlin Blues" back in July. Now he returns with a track called "Freedom," which is a bit more chaotic and energetic than its predecessor.
Spitting over sirens, metallic bleeps and hyperkinetic drums, Jreamz oozes paranoia and frustration as he wonders, "What's the price of a nigga's freedom?" This dude certainly deviates from the tried-and-true Houston hip-hop formula of purple drank-drenched, slo-mo bangers, but with such a unique sound of his own, it's hard to gripe.
Quotable Lyrics:
Goin' trill in the fast lane
Burning oil just for all my demons
Still trying to be better than Hemingway
So I'ma take a lil' dot to my motherfucking face
