"We had a day off in Houston a couple of years ago, so we made this. It was featured on Illroots Radio Volume Three.Five."
That's how Chuck Inglish describes "James Harden," a track he just freed from the confines of that hourlong IllRoots mix in honor of Throwback Thursday. Featuring guest verses from Killa Kyleon and a then-nascent Vic Mensa, this lengthy track bears an unmistakable connection to the music of H-Town.
Though Mensa and Inglish both hail from Chicago, they do a great job of keeping up with Kyleon's Texas-bred bars, bookending "James Harden" with a pair of very strong verses.
Quotable Lyrics:
Ridin' low, leanin' slow, with a couple hoes I never seen befo'
Sippin' Actavis and eatin' pizza rolls
Take 'em back to the crib and she beastin' on
Got the ice in it, keepin' cool, got the yellow works like Pikachu
He in the bathroom with her like "peek a boo"
Pull a fast on me, and I freeze your boo
- Inglish
