Vado assists Papoose on "New York State Of Mind."

Papoose may be the only modern rapper with the audacity to name a new track after one on Illmatic, but he's also one of the few with the necessary bars to back it up. He recruits Vado for a guest verse, and says this track is a single from his upcoming second album.

Beginning the song with a very strong, poignant diss of "Turn Down For What," Papoose makes it very obvious that he only appreciates hip-hop made by lyrics-first rappers. Vado's a little less vehement in his dismissal of fake trappers/rappers, but when Papoose is firing on all cylinders, the change of pace is appreciated.

Quotable Lyrics:

Turn down for what, turn that shit down 'cause I said so
Let a real lyricist spit, straight off the head though
Dead men tell no tales, only the dead know
Man I'm goin hard, like Black Rob when he said "whoa"
