Trump has tweeted that the cast were "very rude" and that they "harassed" Pence.

Vice President-elect Mike Pence attended a performance of the popular Broadway music Hamilton last night in New York City, and left with a good sense of how many Americans are feeling about he and running mate Donald Trump's vision for the country.

Pence was greeted by boos from the audience, and following the performance, the cast of Hamilton addressed the VP-elect with some words from "the diverse America."

"I see you walking out but we have a message for you sir," said cast member Brandon Victor Dixon. "We are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir. But we truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and work on behalf of all of us."

Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda later tweeted out support for Dixon's statement, as well as stating that "ALL are welcome at the theater."

Naturally, it wasn't long before President-elect Donald Trump sent out a few tweets of his own, in which he called the cast "very rude," suggesting that they "harassed." He also demanded for the cast to apologize.

Dixon then responded directly to Trump on Twitter, writing "conversation is not harassment sir. And I appreciate @mike_pence for stopping to listen."
