The-Dream dropped his free project 1977 under his real name Terius Nash back in August 2011, and it has become a fan-favorite and highly underrated project at the same time. The r'n'b singer/songwriter went on to re-release the project for sale, which was a good call considering it is of album quality. While the mixtape is nearing it's four year birthday, we're bringing one particular song off it back, "Used To Be", an anti-love ballad. The-Dream is an artist that never gets old, you can always re-listen to any of his albums and find new layers and levels to his music you didn't hear the first time, which is part of the reason he's so dope.
Go grab 1977 if for some reason you don't have it. Now that The-Dream is no longer with Def Jam let's hope he drops something like this again.
Quotable Lyrics
You used to strip for a nigga
Now you ain't got nothing but lip for a nigga
Halfway decent for me, but you dress up for your girlfriends?
Listening to what they say got your ass without a husband
Put you in a Benz, you did everything to get me
Ain't did nothing since but keep talking about what it should be
