This past weekend, Bay Area veterans Souls Of Mischief announced a new album, There Is Only Now. Produced entirely by Adrian Younge, who also did all of Ghostface Killah's 2013 album 12 Reasons To Die, the album will drop on August 26th. Today, they've shared the title track, which features Snoop Dogg.
Punctuated by keyboard twinkles, guitar riffs and a classic-sounding beat, "There Is Only Now" previews the sound that will no doubt cover the entirety of Souls Of Mischief's upcoming album. Adrian Younge didn't use any computers to record the album, and it shows in the warm tones found in this track's live instrumentation.
Quotable Lyrics:
What's love, can you imagine being told by the old
This ain't right, fuss and fight
Don't you roll, it's so cold
What's your mode? Will he break or will he fold?
