Since Connecticut rapper Franc Grams' #FrancGramsFridays series kicked off with "Classic" earlier this month, he's delivered on his promise of a great new track at the end of every week. The latest is "No Summer Love," a sun-kissed jam produced by Junia-T and featuring Jus Cuz.
Creating an instrumental reminiscent of Raekwon's "New Wu," Junia-T mixes cooing vocal samples with chilled-out beat and very tasteful horns. Franc Grams opens with some spoken word ("They say somewhere around where the summer begins is usually where the love ends"), and proceeds to spit about that subject for the next 3:30. Jus Cu provides a soulful chorus to tie everything together.
Quotable Lyrics:
See this about the time when all the dimes you ain't seen
For the past like six months find some time to be free
To do investin' in some nigga, he who lied and deceived
Now she searchin' for a cure she hopes to find on the scene
