On last month's Record Store Day, deceased production legend J Dilla was honored by the Give Them What They Want EP, a collection of six tracks from the scrapped vocal album The Diary. Recorded between 2001-2002, "The Doe" is the latest song that Rappcats Records has shared with us from the EP.
Full of the jerky funk that Dilla tended to prefer, "The Doe" finds the Detroit native hopping on the mic for some surprisingly agile rapping. Though he's definitely more well-known for his revolutionary approach to beatmaking, Dilla seems like he could've stepped out as a lyricist had he not met an untimely death.

Quotable Lyrics:
Ay, it's the capital D, I the LL
A to the bay, ride to tell twelve
Straight with the cake about what they sell
They see me blazin' hay and be high as a stealth
It won't come in on an average radar
He'll cum in a bitch mouth if she wanna take that far
