It’s been a minutes since we’ve heard Mickey Factz on a track, but today that all changes. After his brief hiatus, Mickey returns to the game with this new offering titled "Detroit Red", which finds Mickey placing himself in the shoes of a young Malcolm X during his days in Harlem.
With a jazzy backdrop from Aleem Bilal, Mickey serves up a great reminder to what his talent can provide.
"Detroit Red" is the first leak off his upcoming project, 740 Park Avenue. Look for that to impact hopefully later this month.
Take a listen below. Thoughts?
Quotable Lyrics:
Grew up in a world full of thieves
The son of Earl & Louise
Yearning for greed, I was working for me
My pops died on the train tracks, whites left him lay flat
Cause my mama fell in love with a man with shade black
