Waka Flocka was once known mainly for his ferocious delivery and energetic ad-libs. More conventional rapping wasn't something expected from the rapper, but more recently, he's recently tapped into styles rooted in his birthplace of New York, and shown more versatility on the mic.
His latest offering, a freestyle over Drake's "Draft Day" finds him in a more composed space, with Flocka proving he can be equally effective in this zone.
The Brick Squad Monopoly spitter has also expanded his horizons toward EDM, with a project experimenting with the genre called Flockaveli Psychotis in the works.
Of course, he also hasn't forgotten his roots, as Flockaveli 2-- which he's described as some of the hardest material he's done in years --is due out later this year.
Quotable Lyrics:
I'm a real hitta, I salute a real hitta
Now your bank account
And mama house a lot bigger
More sacks than my partners in the trap
And all you haters and doubters can fall back
SC that's the home of Ben G (SQUAD)
Jungle boy, two spoons gotta eat (SQUAD)
God works in mysterious ways
I just work to keep on livin' the luxurious way
And the jury can say whatever they please
You can't judge me
I'm the people, so the real people love me
