For those unfamiliar, Red Eye is a veteran street lyricist from Queens, New York who's currently operating out of Orlando, Florida. He's a member of the Infinity Gauntlet crew alongside Shabaam Sahdeeq (S-Dub), FT, Bekay and El Gant, as well as The Closers with S-Dub and Queens production group Thorotracks.
We certainly hope y'all're familiar with Mr. Cheeks, though - he's only the lead emcee of pioneering South Jamaica, Queens rap crew The Lost Boyz. If this doesn't ring a bell, it's due time you did your homework.
"Hemperor's Theme" is Red's latest single, featuring Cheeks on the hook with production from Switzerland's DJ Tray. It finds them reminding us of the importance of escaping the rat race and taking a breather every now and then. Throw some haze in the dutch and give it a spin.
The single will be included on Red Eye's upcoming Fatrick Ewing mixtape, which is expected to drop in July. Stay tuned, and keep up with those involved via Twitter in the meantime: @RedEye407 / @MRCHEEKSLBFAM / @DJTray.
Quotable Lyrics
Yes, eyes wide shut, but I'm so focussed
Drugs go hand in hand when your lifestyle's showbiz
No rehab, no lifestyle coaches
I'm the personification of pure dopeness
-Red Eye
