Marvel fans (and movie fans generally) have been excitedly waiting for the next Guardians Of The Galaxy movie to drop. There are still a couple months to go before the release date, but last night Marvel laced us with a new trailer on Jimmy Kimmel Live that includes a bunch of never-before-seen footage. Check it out below.
The structure of the trailer is similar to the others, with a stage-setting battle at the beginning before it cuts to a montage showing the different characters who will be appearing in the movie. The jokes as good as expected, and Baby Groot is as adorable as ever.
The biggest reveal comes at the end, where we finally see Kurt Russell portraying Star-Lord’s father. In the comics he’s technically the living planet Ego, so it’ll be interesting how they explain that in the movie.
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 drops May 5.
