As we anxiously await the comeback of The Cool Kids, with their upcoming project Shark Week, we've decided to pay homage on the throwback track of the day to their avante-garde style. Back when Sir Michael Rocks was going by Mikey Rocks, he and Chuck Inglish delivered "Mikey Rocks" which first appeared on their mixtape Cool Ass Ninjas and then later on their critically acclaimed The Bakesale EP in 2008.
The minimal production and thumping bassline has become Chuck's signature sound, although on Chuck's new solo album Convertibles (due out April 8th) he definitely varies up his sound and style, tinkering with different kinds of production. And we're still waiting for updates on Sir Michael Rocks' solo album BANCO.
Quotable Lyrics
Me and the beat start fighting with the snares and kicks
Now it's a riot on the track
Reason why is cause I'm fire and I'm hired to do that
And I'm fire cause I'm liver then the wire that was tired
