Rush Davis is an emerging R&B singer from L.A., and he's already got a pretty big, albeit unconventional co-sign under his belt.
Lionel Richie has called him a "once every twenty year artist", which is no small claim. The singer has been working alongside legendary southern emcee Scarface on his new album, and has now dropped a new solo single, "Sin Pays The Bills".
The song could sit alongside contemporary R&B, but also bears the DNA of a more classic style of R&B, with some warm keys creeping underneath the rolling high hats, making for a track that is both fresh, and rooted in tried and true musical tradition.
Quotable lyrics:
What is love?
What is it good for?
Sin pays the bills
All about my riches
That's my religion
Cash bottles and bitches
