Jhene Aiko turns 26 today, and to celebrate the occasion she's released a brand new track. "My Afternoon Dream" once again assumes Jhene's meditative style of R&B, with the singer delivering her hypnotic melodies over a contemplative backdrop from Key Wane.
The song comes with a visual accompaniment, depicting a girl's silhouette playing in the ocean, lending to the themes of last year's Sail Out EP.
No word on whether this is intended for the singer's upcoming Souled Out album, or it's just a teaser.
Jhene's debut is still without a release date, but it's expected out sometime this year.
Quotable lyrics:
You make me see the truth in things
I think that you are
The remedy for everything
It seems that you are
The truth itself
'Cause nothing else
Can take me so far
