The first-ever Magnificent Coloring Day went down earlier today as the first music festival to ever be held at U.S. Cellular Field, home of the Chicago White Sox in the city's Southside. The lineup on the bill was easily one of the best of the season, featuring Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug, Chance himself, and more. Though that didn't account for the unannounced special guests, one of whom proved to be a highlight of the festival: hometown hero Kanye West.
The audience looked to be relatively spread out throughout the various levels of the stadium, until Kanye suddenly appeared and began performing "Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1," causing a swarm of frenzied fans to rush the area in front of the stage. Though he didn't bring the flying stage he's been operating from on his current "Saint Pablo" tour, Yeezy didn't have any trouble in lighting up the crowd.
Ye went on to perform a medley of hits, including "Black Skinhead," "Can't Tell Me Nothing," his verse on Schoolboy Q's "THat Part," and for the finale, "Ultralight Beam," for which he was joined by the festival's organizer, Chance the Rapper. Watch clips from Kanye's surprise set below.
