After teasing people with his Kanye West-assisted track “Do Girls” the other day, Theophilus London is back with more new music for fans. This time around, London is found tackling a 80's Martin Dupont track and making it his own titled “Take A Look”. The track was premiered by Style.com, whom London does a lot of his fashion work with. Style states that the inspiration for this record was Kanye West. Theophilus was quoted saying:
“In late November, Kanye sent me a folder of music to inspire me, with a bunch of really obscure oldies. ["Martin"] is an interpretation of another song that came out in, like, 1981, by a group called Martin Dupont from Marseille, France. I was working on my new album, and Kanye said, ‘You should cover or reinterpret some very obscure songs, with their melodies and with your bass lines.’” When Kanye gives musical advice, you’d better take it.” -Theophilus
The track is produced by Theophilus and Adam Pavao, who go by the name Dimensions. This is the title track off of London’s upcoming EP dropping digitally on February 12th. It will also live on his second full-length album VIBES!, which will be dropping in the near future. Give the new release a listen and download below. Thoughts?
