Kendrick Lamar earned himself a passionate following through his many mixtape releases, and later found huge critical acclaim through the release of his two densely conceptual major label releases, good kid, MAAD city, and To Pimp A Butterfly, but for many, it all began with Section.80, the rapper's first retail release through Top Dawg Entertainment, and in many ways, the blueprint for his later work. That project was released July 2nd 2011, or in other words, 5 years ago today. Listening back, it's clear both how far Kendrick has come in a half-decade, as well as how far ahead he was at the time. In celebration of the anniversary, we've put together a By The Numbers infographic, looking at the features, production, and sales figures of the beloved project. Take a look below, and let us know how the album stands up 5 years later.
