For whatever reason, rappers fail to pay their taxes at a rate higher than almost any other profession. In many instances, the IRS issues a tax-dodging rapper a lien, which asserts the rights of the state to their property until they pay off their debt.
In honor of Rick Ross' massive $5.7 lien, which he claims was the result of an incorrect filing, we have put together a pair of infographics detailing rapper liens sorted by year received.
This year, the IRS has issued liens to Nelly, Iggy Azalea, TI Ty Dolla $ign, Rick Ross, and Nas.
And then there's 2015. MC Hammer, Birdman, TI, Ma$e, Yung Joc, and Trey Songz all received liens last year. Not only was T.I. the recipient of 2015's biggest lien, he is the only rapper to receive liens in both 2015 and 2016. Clifford, no!
