Dave Chappelle took on hosting duties on tonight's episode of Saturday Night Live, and it was everything fans hoped it would be. The night began with a powerful opening monologue from the beloved comedian, in which he took on the topic that's been on everyone's mind this week -- Trump's election.
"We've actually elected an Internet troll as our president," he joked, suggesting that Trump's win wasn't as surprising to him as it was to others. "I know the whites. You guys aren't as full of surprises as you used to be," he said to big laughs.
After a few jabs at Trump, as well as denouncing Blue Lives Matter ("That is not a blue life, that's a blue suit. If you dont like it, take that suit off)," Dave closed with some hesitant hope for the President-elect. "I'm gonna give him a chance," he said, "and we the historically disenfranchised, demand that he give us one too."
The following sketches brought back some of the humor from Dave's own sketch comedy series, Chapelle's Show, including one Walking Dead spoof that revived characters like crackhead Tyrone Biggums, the Player Haters, and even Dave's take on rapper Lil Jon.
Of course, A Tribe Called Quest served as the musical guests, while Busta Rhymes, Consequence, and former SNL cast member Chris Rock made guest appearances on the show. Watch Tribe's performance here, and stay tuned for more skits from the show to be updated soon.
