KD's will reopen after Labor Day with a new theme.

Oklahoma City is slowly but surely washing their streets of any traces of Kevin Durant from selling his replica jerseys at 99% off to closing down the KD's restaurant.

Durant partnered with The Hal Smith group, which operates the restaurant, to open the space at 224 Johnny Bench Drive in Bricktown, but now that he's playing for the Warriors they've shut it down and are rebranding the existing building.

"The concept will offer an updated atmosphere with a similar menu to what has been available at that location in the past."

“It has been an honor — and a lot of fun — to partner with Kevin Durant at Kd's these last few years,” Hal Smith, founder and CEO of the Oklahoma-based restaurant group said in a statement. “We wish him the very best as he takes a new direction in his career.”

KD's opened in 2012 and Durant owns 25% of the eatery although it's unclear if he'll maintain any ownership when the place reopens after Labor Day with a brand new theme. Despite the new look, The Hal Smith group plans to stick with a majority of the current menu, including their famous fried chicken and other favorites.
