The latest luxury brand designer to partner up with Nike is Louis Vuitton's men's style director, Kim Jones. A couple of weeks ago he took to instagram, teasing the upcoming collaboration which will officially be releasing next Saturday, July 23rd.
In an interview with Vogue, NikeLab's senior design director, Jarrett Reynolds said this about Jones' upcoming Nike collab;
“He knows tech, and he’s been part of street culture forever, so he spoke the language of Nike culture.”
Today, we have our first full look at each of the Kim Jones x NikeLab Zoom LWPs, which are an updated version of the old Zoom LWP (lightweight performance) with Jones' name stamped on the heel.
"I like the fact that it has come from an old shoe but has become a completely new shoe," Jones said of the updated tooling. "It took quite a few tries to get it right. At first it was too chunky and then it was too skinny. I was thinking about a shoe that I would really like to wear and be proud of."
The Louis Vuitton has also enlisted the help of Riccardo Tisci and Undercover's Jun Takahashi for this footwear and apparel collection which will all be arriving at NikeLab locations next weekend.
