Marvel's "Luke Cage" was a wild success when it debuted on Netflix earlier this year as part of a growing roster of superhero series that live on the streaming service. It was always assumed it would get a second season, but nothing is promised in the world of TV (especially when you're the only show with an almost all black cast). Any fears proved unfounded when Marvel, Netflix and the show's official social media accounts all posted over the weekend that the bulletproof hero would be returning.
The announcement was made via a short video that pans in on Pop's Barbershop (an iconic location for anyone who's watched the show) before a "Season 2 Coming Soon" neon graphic appears. This comes on the heels of a number of short videos that the show posted to their social media accounts over the previous two weeks highlighting each of the major characters.
There is no official word on which villains will be making an appearance but Theo Rossi, who plays the villain Shades, tweeted a few Eminem lyrics that point to his probable return. Maybe even Pete Rock and Smoke DZA will get the parts they want.
