Illa J comes through with some visuals for "7 Mile," a single from his Home album. In this dieOttos directed clip, Illa rolls through Detroit while rapping along to his bass-heavy jam. Both this song and its video are all about location, celebrating the delicate balance that is Detroit.
While Illa performs, occasional animation fills in to add some character. It adds a much needed burst of color to the otherwise gray and dull proceedings. The video paints a picture of dilapidation, of abandonment, and yet there remains a sense of comfort through it all. After all, the album is called Home.
